Personal Care Plan.
Your personal care plan is developed with
your involvement after your admission. It will be reviewed
and updated at least monthly to reflect any changes and to
ensure that objectives for nursing, personal care and support
are addressed. Family and friends are encouraged to participate
in the resident’s daily routine wherever appropriate
and may be invited to review meetings.
Visits to the Hospital.
Should you feel unwell then your own Doctor
will be called out to attend to you and any follow-up medical
treatment will be carried out by the District Nurses who call
at the Home on most days. However, should you need to attend
hospital for a specific reason then family relatives will
normally escort you. If for any reason family and friends
cannot be available to escort you to hospital then a member
of staff will be allocated for escort duty. We feel it is
important that a familiar face is with you to offer support
and assistance.
Personal Care.
Bathing and assistance with daily personal
care is part of our service. The more able residents can utilise
the en-suite facilities including the en-suite showers.
Meals and Hot Drinks.
All meals are provided as part of our service and hot drinks
are available at all times on request. Family and friends
are welcome to join you for lunch or tea, provided that we
are given at least a day's notice in order for us to cater
for the additional numbers.
Visits from Family & Friends.
We have an open door policy and there is no restriction
to visiting times.
Laundry.
All personal laundry is carried out on the premises and
is part of our service. Items of clothing requiring 'dry-cleaning'
is however not part of our service and must be undertaken
by family members or friends.
Telephone calls.
All bedrooms have a telephone point. There
is also a payphone in the main reception area. Residents who
wish to have a private telephone may do so and arrange to
pay their phone bills with the administrator.
Nurse Alarm System.
All bedrooms, lounges and bathrooms have a central nurse
call alarm system. For peace of mind, trained assistance will
be available within seconds of initiating the call system.
Lifting and Handling.
All staff are trained in 'Lifting and Handling' of elderly
residents. Residents who are less mobile are moved using hydraulic
hoists to ensure that safety to resident is of paramount importance.
Pocket Money.
All residents have their own pocket money accounts which
is readily available to them and their families for inspection.
Hairdressing.
Hairdressing services are available on a Tuesday and all
residents can book for this service.
Additional facilities are available on request.
