Admission.
Ladies and gentlemen interested in coming
to Winthorpe Hall are encouraged to visit the home and sample
the atmosphere and review our level of service. A day’s
visit and perhaps taking a meal with us, may give you time
to get to know the staff and other guests and adjust to the
new surroundings. A month’s trial period is always given
before taking up permanent residence. During this period the
Client, may if they wish, leave the home at short notice.
Leaving or temporarily vacating the home.
If after a satisfactory one month trial
period the Client does wish to stay with us, we ask for a
four week notice period. If a resident moves out of the home
on a temporary basis (eg. to receive hospital treatment) the
room is retained for a period of up to six weeks upon payment
of 60% of the normal fee. Social service funded residents
are covered by their Council Contract.
We are committed to providing value for
money within a comprehensive caring service. Each prospective
client will be assessed for the type of care needed. As a
residential home we do not cater for clients requiring the
full time services of a registered nurse. However should you
require it, a district nurse or doctor will visit you at the
home as and when required.

Pets.
Many people have pets for company during
their lifetime and may wish to bring their pet with them when
they move. We would like you to bring your pet with you if
it can possibly be accommodated with us. However I have a
responsibility to all the other residents regarding their
health and safety. We therefore have to treat each case on
its merits and I can discuss this with you prior to you joining
us.
Meals.
Menus are varied daily over a four-week
rotation. Favourite dishes and special diets can be catered
for. Clients are encouraged to eat in our dining room, but
you can, on occasions, have your meals served in your room
if you wish. Tea and coffee are available several times during

Residents have the right to meet clergy
of any denomination at any time. A private room is available
for such meetings.
If staffing levels permit care staff may accompany residents
to their local church. Under normal circumstances relatives
or the resident should arrange transport and escort for church
services.
There is a church (C of E) located within five minutes walking
distance from the Home and our clients are most welcome.
